Welcome to Web Stuff

Want to create your own website but don't know where to start, then you've come to the right place.

I certainly know how you feel, I thought creating a website would be a great idea, everyone else is doing it so it can be too hard.

Well the truth is, it's not, well not really.

There are a few things one should consider to ensure their website is as successful as possible.

  1. Why do I want to create a website, what is it that I want to accomplish?
  2. Who is it for? ie. personal, business, to make money
  3. What do I want to put on my website?
  4. What do I use to create the website?
  5. Do I need a name for my website?
  6. How do I publish it onto the internet?
  7. What is the cost?

Once you have decided on the type of website, you should put pen to paper and come up with the structure of the site, keeping it as simple as possible.

ie Start with a Home Page, under this you may have 3 or 4 main topics and under each of the topics you might be 2 or 3 pages.

Now that the structure is sorted all you need to do is think about how your website might look, again pen to paper works a treat here.

Now it's time to find a program that can place all your ideas into your own website and put up on the internet.

This site will help you discover the readily available programs and sites that can help you achieve all of this and in some cases more.
